My Duties and Desires - Poem

I feel anger, shame and pains

As farmers perish in torrid plains

Terror, toil and tears they bear

While I snuggle in this comfy chair

I can drink fresh cool water

While freshwater fish elsewhere face slaughter

Farmers are instilled with purpose and pride

Procrastinators like I brush urgencies aside

I have the desire and duty

To honour my creed and somehow serve my country

I may have passed my Advanced Levels

This is not succeeding all levels

I strive to make intellect

My thirst-quenching quest
