This Poet's Problem with Problems - Shakespearian Sonnet

There are plenty of problems in this world

There are lots to face, so many to bear

Adversities flung, bombed, unfurled and hurled

Precious peaceful moments are very rare

Oh bother, why is our life so unfair?

Problems threaten lives with double edged knives

I have to fare in my own lonely lair

To eradicate such issues, I strive

Dire deceit and lies will arise

I am bored of the battlefield

I’ll fight before I pay my dreaded price

I will wield my shield before I should yield

There exist countless conflicts we should end

I believe we must mend through tend and befriend

Corona Cares and Concerns - Poem

I feel Pain, not for me but for society, I cannot recall ever feeling this before,

until hearing about recollections so raw.

I did not feel this bruised when I heard the news,

I cannot precedent if it will last or if it is just a phase.

Will I ever escape this emotional maze?

I did not realise it was hurting peoples’ homes, health, work and wellbeing,

and all this time I was not listening nor seeing.

I felt so interested in my own issues which seem less salient now.

I can no longer be this self-interested and spoilt cow.

I cannot minimise this misery and push aside this pain,

as even if I do not worry, everyone’s suffering will remain.

They will still suffer because of this wretched Virus.

From this week, I learnt that maybe I should listen more and judge less.

At least at this point in time, I would be joyful if everyone is hail and healthy,

whatever they are doing and whether they are poor or wealthy.

Hence, I wish even clubs would open for other people’s profit not mine.

even if I have different interests from others, I realised that it is fine.

Even though I am not fond of boat bacchanals, orgies and flings,

I now recognise what raves bring that people are desperately missing:

Energy, elation and exhilaration!

All creatures on board the Godolphin Airline - Poem

We were glum and gloomy on the flight

As it was soaring over the big blue

Suddenly a flicker of light

Flitted by as we flew

Could we be witnessing a water-walloping whale?

Or perhaps a pair of playful porpoises?

Whatever they are, our memory will not turn stale

But it will grow as old as tortoises

I daresay it is a duo of delighted dolphins

More likely they are mammals than some UFO

These buoyant beings certainly brighten our cabins

And set our sullen spirits aglow

as cheerful as these creatures are

We still should tread oceans with care

although our plane is up so far

it still clogs their lungs with dirty air

DOLPHINS - Acrostic Poem

Dancing and prancing in delight

Outstanding mammals in its flight

Long lissom limbs fit for leaping

Pods speak through their clicks and beeping

High they leap up to the wide vault

Incredibly they shoot like bolts

Never once giving up or in

Silver skin shines from tail to fin

A brave new world - Part 2

At once my blue world bursts open Does this mean my story’s done? or is this time to have new fun?   Strange warm shades break the ground Oo...
